He has taught at Sarah Lawrence, written music reviews and
composed an opera based on a John Waters film. We knew Jed
Distler was a talented guy when his wife, arts
administrator Celia Cooke, asked for some help in
founding Composers Collaborative, a non-profit
organization in New York formed to present new musical
work.
It took a lot of kitchen table meetings and telephone calls,
but Composers Collaborative produces vibrant, fresh
work.
